Is DEBORDIEU under the direction of the DeBordieu Club or DeBordieu Colony Board of Governors?
DEBORDIEU has been approved by the IRS as a 501.c3 nonprofit organization and is governed separately from the Club and Community Board of Governors.
Why was DEBORDIEU created?
DEBORDIEU was established to provide need-based assistance to the valued employees of The DeBordieu Club and/or DeBordieu Colony through a structured granting process.
What types of circumstances are eligible for funding?
Hardships in the following categories:
- Educational needs.
- Natural disasters.
- Life-threatening or serious illness or injury.
- Death of an active employee, spouse, or minor child.
- Catastrophic circumstances, such as fire, robbery, or other
- reportable incident beyond the employee’s control.
Who is eligible for employee assistance fund benefits?
All DeBordieu Club and/or DeBordieu Colony employees below the department head level qualify if they are in good standing, have been employed for at least six months, and regularly work at least 20 hours per week.
Who determines which employees get funding?
DEBORDIEU is comprised of seven volunteer board members. The board will determine the dollar amount and which employees will receive funding through a very structured application and granting process.
How are funds distributed?
Once the employee completes the application and the board reviews and approves it on a timely basis, the amount determined will be given directly to the vendor.
